As we have committed ourselves to providing more user-friendly services, we are pleased to launch an upgrade for Snow White^® frame.

The idea is to replace the aluminum alloy toe stop block with a plastic one and to achieve the following results:

1. Reduce the overall frame weight - 50g deduction per frame/100g per pair.

2. Provide an easier toe stop height adjustment - hex locknut and Y-shaped hand tool are no longer needed.

3. Improve the locking of toe stop - since the thread match of Alu-against-Alu is prone to sticking after a number of adjustments of the toe stop, we plan to solve this potential problem by using Alu-against-Plastic.  It's proven that plastic material holds the toe stop metal threads more securely.

This plastic toe stop block is made of nylon from Du Pont, Product code:Zytel 8018, the toughest nylon material in the engineering plastic industry.

The following pictures will give you detailed information about each stage of our research process.

Stage 1: The making of prototype and testing

a) The white prototype is cut by CNC machine from a whole piece of nylon block.  We drilled holes and inserted screws and toe stop for testing.

b) Both impact-resistance and torsion-resistance tests were performed on this prototype in the lab.

Stage 2: Review of product dimensions after the plastic mold injection process

a) We checked the toe stop block and found it to be identical to the alu alloy one in all dimensions.  No shrinkage nor sharp edge were found.

b) After the injection, all holes are drilled and threaded.

Stage 3: Trial assembly

a) The connection to the frame is perfect and the holes align correctly for all screws.
